Gustavus Residential Camp

Sanneh Soccer Residential Camp is June 10-14. Open to boys and girls ages 10-19. At Gustavus Adolphus college, located in St. Peter, Minnesota

The Sanneh Foundation and Sanneh Soccer are proud to host one of the region’s top residential soccer camp experiences at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.  The highly qualified Sanneh Soccer staff includes NCAA Division I, II and III college coaches from across the country, current and former professional players, and some of the Midwest’s top club coaches.  The overnight camp offers players daily technical and tactical instruction, nightly tournament games, health and nutrition information, and college recruiting help in the safe, friendly environment found on the Gustavus campus.

We provide positive role models and a road map for success in life and soccer. Our coaches range in experience from local club teams, ODP, and collegiate to professionals in the US and abroad. Not only do we teach the campers, but we provide them an honest assessment of their abilities and offer a network to continue educational and athletic endeavors at a higher level.

A well rounded, positive child has a better chance of succeeding on the soccer field and in life, and this is why we provide classroom instruction on emerging subjects that impact a child’s ability to achieve and maintain success. We strive to build a foundation and support system to help our campers achieve their full potential.

At the Residential camp our classroom subjects will include:

The Recruiting Process

Preparing to enter college or a university can be an overwhelming experience. We will provide the campers a roadmap to follow, making the process easier. To be eligible to play soccer at the college level, the NCAA has a complex set of ever-changing rules that student athletes must follow to be eligible. We will teach your child the process and provide information pertaining to the following: (College Entrance Exams, Instruction on contacting a school, Goals for the student athlete, assessing their playing level and determining what college coaches look for).

We want each student to choose a school that meets their needs and goals. We want to encourage a great student, athletic experience and start the next phase of their life positively.

Drugs and Alcohol

With the help of DEA agents, we will go over the risks, consequences, and effects drugs and alcohol have on our society. The camp has an anti-drug and alcohol policy and we hope to instill these values in our youth. We outline how drugs and alcohol affect the body and reduces an athlete’s chances of succeeding in soccer, school and life. We want to give our campers every advantage possible to be productive, successful members of our society.

Health in Dieting

Diet is a very important component in a child’s development. We want to instill healthy eating habits at a young age, so our campers grow to become healthy adults. The importance of nutrition is often overlooked in our society and obesity has become a national epidemic. We hope that through education, our youth can learn the fundamentals of living a healthy lifestyle.

Fitness

We know that fitness is very important to an athlete’s success, but it also contributes to a healthy lifestyle. We teach different methods of fitness training, giving the kids the knowledge to exercise on their own. This helps the health and discipline of the campers, and provides a means to stay healthy and physically at your peak.

Cultural Integration

Using our For All Youth training program, we will explain the distinct benefits of an integrated society. We will teach children what is socially and morally acceptable when dealing with people from different cultures. We will show them how some actions, that might seem harmless, can be very destructive and hurtful to others. We want to teach them how to effectively deal with their problems when they see or experience racism or bigotry. A well rounded, open minded camper is ready to take on the world in whatever environment he or she is put in.
