Macalester World Cup Camp

The Macalester World Cup Camp was started as a fun event to coincide with the 2010 FIFA Men’s World Cup in South Africa.  The success of the 2010 camp lead to another World Cup Camp in the summer of 2011 during the FIFA Women’s World Cup.  Players enjoy a week of soccer at Macalester College in St. Paul under the instruction of current and former Macalester soccer players.  Participants receive a camp t-shirt and soccer ball along with healthy drinks and snacks.  Players compete in fun World Cup style tournament where they get to play as their favorite countries and players.

UPCOMING CAMP:

Macalester College Stadium June 27 – July 1, 2011

For Boys and Girls going into 6th, 7th, and 8th grade

  • Morning Session: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
  • Afternoon Session: 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Cost: $89.95 : for the week if registered by June 1, $99.95 after June 1

Camp proceeds to benefit The Sanneh Foundation

Participants receive a country specific T-shirt and soccer ball along with Gatorade and snacks.
Scholarships are available.

  • Learn about the cultures of participating Women’s World Cup nations like Brazil, Egypt, and the United States.
  • Watch the Women’s World Cup Broadcast Live from Germany
  • Play under the instruction of Macalester Men’s and Women’s soccer players

We’re running the camp again this year because of the positive feedback we received last summer. The camp was featured in two newspapers, KSTP radio, and two TV stations.
