We’re Not Done Yet! – US vs. Ghana
World Cup Lunch & Punch Party at Smalley’s 87 Club, Saturday June 26!
As Landon Donovan put it best after scoring perhaps the greatest goal in US Soccer history: “We’re not done yet!” Now it’s do or die for Team America, and we’re calling on you and your crews and clubs to join 2002 World Cup star, Tony Sanneh, for another World Cup viewing party at Smalley’s 87 Club (formerly Champps) in downtown Minneapolis. If you haven’t had the chance to watch the Stars & Stripes in action, this is the place you want to be and it’s never too late to jump on the USA bandwagon and support a great cause.
- Fans of ALL AGES are welcome and admission is FREE.
- $5 burgers and $3 hot dogs & chips in “Soccer Alley” – the outdoor bar & grill area outside of the restaurant along First Avenue.
- World Cup Punch that is sure to get the party started for $1.99 per glass.
- Match shown on giant projection screen & over a dozen big-screen plasma TVs.
At half-time and after the match, Tony and The Sanneh Foundation will again raffle off a variety of US and MLS soccer memorabilia, which Tony has personally collected over the years, including US jerseys and official 2010 World Cup balls autographed by current US stars, US and MLS warm-up gear, USA T-shirts, and over a dozen other items. Raffle tickets are only $5 (5 for $20) and there is no limit on the number of items a person can win.
WHEN:
Saturday. June 26. The match broadcast starts at 1 p.m., but the party gets started hours before that (officially 11 a.m.) Get to Smalley’s early to reserve your table and secure your spot.
WHERE:
Team USA Headquarters (Smalley’s 87 Club) in downtown Minneapolis. Admission is FREE and there is plenty of parking available in a massive lot across the street and metered-parking all around the block.
WHY:
As featured on KFAN, KARE 11, WCCO, and KSTP, Tony and hundreds of US supporters have turned Smalley’s into TEAM USA Headquarters. Where else in the Twin Cities can soccer (futbol) fanatics watch the US knockout Ghana and move on to the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup with a former World Cup and MLS superstar and members of Sam’s Army? The atmosphere in the club has been electric and the fever continues to grow!
Your cheers and chants will also help support The Sanneh Foundation, a Minnesota-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit, which offers several programs and works with other community-based organizations to benefit urban youth here in Minnesota and nationwide. A percentage of all proceeds generated on match-day have been generously donated by Smalley’s 87 Club.
Don’t have any red, white & blue to wear on Wednesday? No problem. Tony will be selling USA T-shirts before, during, and after the match to support the Foundation and help cheer on Team America.
