For All Youth

For All Youth seeks to reduce racism in youth soccer at all levels by building cultural competency among participating soccer clubs and expanding participation among youth of color. During the pilot phase (2008-09) For All Youth recruited and retained 70 immigrant youth into the Blackhawks Soccer Club and trained 1000 parents, players and adults in anti-racism techniques. In 2010-2011 The Sanneh Foundation provided anti-racism training to nearly 500 players, parents and coaches in the Twin cities Area.

The For ALL Youth initiative believes that we can create a more open and supportive  environment for all youth who play soccer by helping players, coaches, team managers and parents excel in diverse environments both on and off the field

  • sports in general, and soccer in particular, provide a unique opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to come together around a shared goal or passion.
  • the more time people from diverse backgrounds spend together the more they see themselves as similar versus different.

For All Youth teaches the four R’s of fighting racism:

  • Receive training and learn to recognize and respond to racist incidents.
  • Recognize racist incidents as they occur in real-time.
  • Respond appropriately to racist incidents when they occur.
  • Report racist incidents.

The Sanneh Foundation's goal is to be a unifying and innovative force in communities.
