When Community
Comes Together,
Families Thrive.

In partnership with Minnesota FoodShare, The Sanneh Foundation is proud to participate in the annual March Campaign — the state’s largest grassroots food and fund drive, now in its 45th year. What began in 1982 as a Twin Cities effort to restock local food shelves has grown into a statewide movement supporting nearly 300 food shelves and distributing more than $18.6 million through the FoodFund, with 100% of designated March Campaign donations going directly to participating shelves. Through this partnership, The Sanneh Foundation advances its mission to Empower youth, Improve lives, and Unite communities by addressing food insecurity as a critical social determinant of health and educational success. By expanding access to healthy food and essential resources, we help ensure that young people and families across the Twin Cities have the stability and support they need to thrive — strengthening community well-being and affirming that every individual deserves opportunity, belonging, and respect.

featured: black radish farms

The Sanneh Foundation has forged a meaningful partnership with The Black Radish, a South Minneapolis–based urban farm founded by artists-turned-growers Carrie Elizabeth Thompson and Jade Townsend. Known for transforming fifteen residential front yards into vibrant, productive gardens, The Black Radish not only cultivates fresh, organically grown produce for nearly 50 CSA households each week but also donates unselected surplus to Sanneh’s weekly food distributions. This collaboration, supported by a grant from the Minneapolis Homegrown initiative, provides nourishing, locally grown food to families in need while simultaneously uplifting independent, community-rooted farmers — a true embodiment of equitable, sustainable food systems and neighborhood resilience.
